Dear Sir:

     I own a 8753C network analyzer.

I would like to use my NA to experiment with active devices that require a DC bias while my TDR transforms are enabled.

The 8753C manual asserts that the operator should use the TDR transforms on cables and makes no references to active devices.

I am theorizing that the DC bias may invalidate my TDR data but I am uncertain because I looked at my TDR signals with an oscilloscope and they look nothing like the traditional TDR signals that one would observe in a textbook.

Can you tell me whether my data is invalid if I add a DC bias to a TDR transform signal such as a step response?

Thank you for your time and efforts.
