4395A - Spectrum/VNA

This is a dumb question

In the literature the 4395A is described hs having VNA capabilities down around 40Hz-500MHz.  The addition of the option 010 allows network analyser to function from 100kHz-500MHz.

Why do you need the option?  Is it measuring more accurately?  S-parameter outputs?  Component modelling?

Are there any problems with using the VNA in the low frequency range (sub 100kHz to 100Hz), a drop in accuracy?

We are looking ideally for a VNA/Spectrum analyser that can truly run from 100s of Hz to  above 100MHz.  Is this the machine for us?

Thanks in advance...
