Fixturing for Impedance Measurements

I want to make impedance measurements of 2-lead components of various lengths (ranging from 2 cm to 20 cm, including leads)
in the 1 - 100 MHz range..........an example would be a resistor. 

As a novice, I'm not sure what type of fixturing works best for
connecting such components to the (male) coax port of the VNA.
I tried crude methods such as alligator clips and I see
several spurious-looking resonances.

Does anyone have recommendations for fixtures for
2-port impedance measurements of simple components ?
What would be a good way to calibrate such fixtures ?
