I would like to accurately measure the insertion loss of some attenuators, and the gain of an LNA (e.g. a range from -20 to +25dB). I need a measurement uncertainty <0.1dB at 150MHz
I have access to an older 8752C (T/R VNA).
Using both the spreadsheet and based on calculations from the operating manual, I'm surprised to see that the expected uncertainty at VHF frequencies of the VNA is ~+/-0.2dB in gain, even following calibration.
It looks like I'm better off using a signal generator and a power meter for these measurements (calc. uncertainty < 0.1dB) - am I right?
