I have a problem with my Math Memory function in the 8361A Network Analyzer. The Problem occurs only in the Format of the linear magnitude. So I have a Power Splitter from whom I want to measure the Reflection on the Output ports.

Measuredescription:

First I measure the Trace S21, this trace is saved in the Memory function.

After that I have to measure S11 and this Trace (DATA) is subtracted from the MEMORY.

If this happens the results are unreproducible. Up to a frequency the subtraction is successful, but then the value goes steeply upward.

I would be glad if someone could help me.

The format does not affect the math operation. The math is always performed on the complex numbers. Format determines how the resulting complex numbers are displayed.
