Hello everyone,
I am using a converter GPIB to USB from national instrument. . I would like to record data from the spectrum analyser.
I downloaded the I/O libraries suite but it doesn't recognize the spectrum analyser (see picture below “NI GPIB0”) probably because the GPIB-USB is not from Keysight.
I don't know if I was a good idea to download national instrument GPIB driver, because it may have some driver conflict with the Keysight driver.
I have already tried to reinstall the software but it stills not working.
Have you ever had this kind of problem?
Thanks in advance for your comments.
Hello OliverHUBERT,
The NI GPIB to USB adapters need the NI 488.2 driver to function properly. You can download this form here:
NI-488.2 17.6.0
One thing to note when you install this driver, it will also install NI MAX and NI VISA. If you set NI VISA as your primary VISA and have any 82357 adapters, they will need to enable passport for Tulip in the NI MAX settings. If you do not need NI's VISA as your primary VISA (mandatory for NI Software like LabVIEW), I would recommend you leave Keysight’s VISA as the primary VISA.
By the way, if it is still an issue, check out Keysight's USB/GPIB product: 82357B USB/GPIB Interface High-Speed USB 2.0
It'll be much less painful to connect to the 3495A. Keysight's adapters do not need a driver as long as IO Libraries is installed, as IO Libraries does all the heavy lifting in getting the connection sorted out.
Hope this helps!
