DSO: Relationship of memory depth and sample rate

According to the datasheet, the DSOX 2012A memory_depth is 100 kpts per channel. When I choose 5 ms/DIV on the time scale, the displayed sample_rate is 1 MSa/s. The time_span on the display screen is 50 ms (= 5 ms x 10). The simple relationship:
sample_rate = memory_depth / time_span
is leading to (100 kpts)/(50 ms) = 2 MSa/s instead of 1 MSa/s. What I am doing wrong? Thank for any help!
