With Benchvue 2016 open the program can detect an Agilent 4446 Spec An connected to my PC via GPIB. Double clicking on the Spec An icon in the lower right appears to start the detection process, but the program hangs and will not respond. Upgrading to the 2017 Library Suite did not help. Any advice would be appreciated, thank you.
Make sure you can talk to the instrument in Connection Expert's Interactive IO feature. That will tell you that all the parameters have been set up properly. If that doesn't work, BenchVue won't either. You can also fire up the IO Monitor to watch the IO between BenchVue and the SA as BenchVue is told to start the SA App. Sometimes you can see a problem in the SCPI commands, or timeout errors. If this does not help, please use the "Report an Issue" feature in the Feedback icon in BenchVue, which will zip up the logs and send them to us.
