:WAVeform:COUNt? returns 0

Question asked by fr111 on Sep 7, 2017

I would like to average the signal on a MSO9104A oscilloscope. When I run the command ":WAVeform:COUNt?" with the Keysight Connection Expert it returns a zero. In the programming guide I found :

"For the NORMal, RAW, INTerpolate, and VERSus waveform types, the count value
returned is one, unless the data contains holes (sample points where no data is
acquired). If the data contains holes, zero is returned."

How can I validate if the aquired data has holes? And what does it exaclty mean?

Thanks in advance!
