I'm trying to determine the best practice to factor in temperature drift to my uncertainty budget. In this particular case I'm looking at a VSWR measurement. Dr. Joel mentioned on a post that switches add to the uncertainty by their match repeatability under directivity and source match error and the insertion loss repeatability is added to the tracking error.
If this process is followed for variation in temperature, would I take a % variation in my total path loss according to the temperature delta expected and add that to my tracking error? I don't know how the loss variation factors into source match/directivity error. Would this be 2x the change in loss?
I searched for reference material and couldn't find a breakdown for temperature drift.
