Is there anyway to convert a dlog file through python?
dlog files are used by a few different instruments and for different purposes.
In the example I found the file is in a binary format that you can not convert externally.
In the example from the N6705C Operating and Service Guide you can export the dlog file as a csv directly from the instrument.
The N6705C has functionality to return the dlog file in .csv format.
You can do this from the front panel using these steps:
the following SCPI command allow you to do this:
MMEMory:EXPort:DLOG Syntax: MMEMory:EXPort:DLOG <"filename"> Description: This command exports the data that is currently loaded in the instrument's datalog viewer to a file. The export filename should be the full path and filename. The exported data is in .csv (comma separated values) format.
If you are using a different instrument try checking the Operating and Service Guide or the Programming Guide for the specific model number you are using to see if the same (or comparable) export functionality is available.
If you need additional help let us know!
I could also do it over Pyvisa if that is easier
