Greetings,
I am running out of room on our PNAs for Windows updates despite having 80GB hard drives. When looking at the disk space from Disk Manager, I noticed there were three partitions for one hard drive. Aside from the tradition C partition, I have a D partition called Datastore (10GB) and an unmarked partition called System (30GB). Can you tell me what those two partitions are used for? I really need the disk space.
The D partition is there for customers to use as data storage. the system partition contains the instrument recovery files. with the instrument recovery system, if your PNA's OS or firmware somehow becomes corrupted, you can run the recovery and restore the OS and firmware back to its factory condition. this is also why we recommend that customers store their data files on D, since the recovery process wipes the C partition clean but leaves D untouched.
