I'm getting "Vertical Test Group" Failed on my Agilent MSO8104A. Looking at the logs shows that all values/voltages are nominal but the test is still flagged as FAILED. Any thoughts on this?

There is some sort of internal failure. You should think about getting it repaired or replaced. Note that this scope was discontinued in September 2011. The official 'end of support' was 5 1/2 years later in March 2017. It might be repairable on a 'best effort' basis. You might try calling your local Technical Call Center, to see if it repairable, or maybe just needs a factory cal.
