Cleaning cal kit components

Hi all,
I have a few calibration kits that have not been used in a long time and the foam has disintegrated and become lodged deep inside the devices.  Some of them are 2.4mm devices so they are too small to clean with a swab and I don't want to blow the particles deeper inside by using compressed air.  How can I safely remove the foam debris?  Would a sonic cleaner filled with 100% isopropyl alchohol be fine?  Is there some other solvent I could use to dissolve the foam but not damage the components?  Any ideas?
