HP8753A/010 Measurements without the S-Parameter test Set

Hi, I have the opportunity to purchase a 8753/A analyzer. I would like to know if it is possible to use this analyzer with a HP778D dual directional
coupler instead of the S-Parameter test set.

The things I would like to do is measure the input impedance of filters
both phase and magnitude and display the filter response vs frequency etc
one end of the filter circuit would be terminated in to a 50Z load.

Also is it possible to calibrate the unit using its built in cal features
with just the duel directional coupler instead of the optional s test set.
I have HP opens shorts isolators etc at my disposal.

The unit will replace my trusty "Still working " hp8405A vector volt
meter. With the VVM I can measure Phase and thus calculate impedance
by using the output port on the coupler. Only prob is no nice graphical display so have to use pen and paper..

Thanks in advance.
