OmniBer 718 (37718B) how can i entry firmware upgrade mode when power up to update my analyzer's firmware?, I have already order 5 disks set (37718-10066) Main Firmware Series 4 before. but i forgot how to operation.
To upgrade the firmware of the 37718B, the easiest way would be through the cold-start procedure. Here are the steps you need to follow:
Hope this helps.
I have success to upgrade my 37718B Firmware version to A.06.23 from my disks set, But after upgrade it cause another big problem, the analyzer show ERROR DETECTED 11 module in slot 4 is not support at power up.
My analyzer firmware are A.04.55 before and displayed selftest CPU ROM checksum crc error, so that i need to upgrade the firmware to fix it.
Can you told me that what can i do to fix this Error Detected 11, or how can i obtain another older firmware disks set, since it seem the firmware not match the hardware.
This happened because the firmware upgrade was not intended for your 37718B. omniBERs come in several configurations and build statuses. Your unit is not defective, you will need to upload the correct firmware into your omniBER. There are several firmware upgrade disk sets. I'll try to see if they're still available somewhere. Is this the only firmware upgrade disk set that you have? If not sure, please upload all firmware, I'll take a look.
I just have only this set 37718-10066 firmware upgrade disk version A.06.23 purchased long time ago and no another version disk on hand, and now this analyzer are not supported that i can buy another version disk set.
So can you kindly to help me to fix this Error Detected 11 problem.
The firmware upgrade applies to "Series 4" of the omniBERs. On the back on the equipment, there is the label with the serial number. It also contains information about the "Series". Can you please check on the back of your unit and check what is the "Build Status"? It should be a number from 1 to 4.
Here my analyzer's back label, and just have this label no anymore.
As I suspected, a Build Status 4 FW upgrade was applied to a Build Status 1 unit. The Multirate Analyzer module is incompatible with the firmware. I'm trying to get the correct firmware updates, but these units have been discontinued. However, if you can make disk images and upload them, maybe I can check if something can be done by altering a file.
I will keep looking for those.
I found a copy of the correct firmware for your equipment. Please allow me a couple of days in order to get it on a ftp server so you can download it.
Any good news for the correct firmware to me ?
Thank's a lot.
Thanks for the follow-up. I will get the correct firmware (build status 1) and upload it on an FTP server. I will send you a message with FTP information soon.
I have placed the correct firmware for build status 1 to the FTP server at
It is version A.04.55.
Thank's a lot, it's work now.
