Does the 34901A measure negative voltages? I need to measure down to -3.3V. If it doesn't, is there a module that will work? I'm using the 34970A
The 34901A doesn't measure anything. It simply multiplexes signals into the 34970A/72A internal DMM which does all of the measurements. As you can see from the 34970A/72A Data Sheet and manuals, all of the ranges are bipolar, +/-V up to +/- 300V. With the default autoranging on, -3.3 volts will be measured on the +/- 10V range.
Thanks for your reply. I got the same answer from a keysight representative. I was unable to find the +/- 300V that you have pointed out. I could only find a MAX voltage of 300V, nothing about +/- 300V. He pointed out the same thing, so I'm sure I just overlooked it! Thanks again for the reply!
I’m very sorry. You’re right. I’m sure we used to show that. But rest assured that all the Keysight DMM and DAQ product ranges are +/-. I’m pretty darn sure you won’t find any DMM on the market these days that can only measure positive voltages, except maybe some very cheap ones. Even my inexpensive handheld measures +/-.
Thanks for letting me know this.
