I just acquired a used DSOX2024A that has a behavior I've not seen before: the scope starts its power up routine normally, with the sequential flashing LEDs, the splash screen with the MegaZoom chip in front of the outdoor scene, and then the black screen with the Agilent name and logo and the copyright notice. Then the screen goes blank and the boot sequence restarts from the beginning. It does this repeatedly until I power off the scope.
I suspect corrupted firmware may be the culprit, but I can't seem to find anything in the literature about how to reload the firmware if the scope doesn't first complete its bootup normally. Is there a way to force a firmware reload? Is this behavior indicative of some other problem?
Thanks in advance for any advice!
Stan
Please try and re-boot the scope 5 times (if it's still stuck in the mode you describe, turn off and try again).
If you can re-boot, update firmware to latest version, v2.41, link below. This should stop it happening again.
If it does not re-boot, return the unit under warranty.
