I want to measure group delay of one stage down converter module with PNA-X. Module's input output requirements are given below.

RF Swept:

LO: Swept

IF: Fixed

The question is that how can I measure group delay of downconverter with swept LO. Which method is preffered for this measurement?

My PNA-X has VMC and SMC+phase option.

GD = - Delta Phase/Delta Frequency

when you have a fixed IF frequency, then the "Delta Frequency" is zero, so you end up with a divide by zero problem. back in 2005, I submitted a paper to MTT to define the fixed IF group delay as a series of small fixed LO/Swept IF measurements. I've linked the paper submission below. it wasn't accepted, so I din't go back and add a lot of details, but there is enough information in there for you to be able to write your own test automation routine to do this measurement.
