53131A - Is Opererational Verification part of Performance Test?

Question asked by S.Reeves on May 29, 2015
Hi.

In the 53131A / 53132A / 53181A Service Manual (53131-90039), the section on testing called Operational Verification (page 1-5) it says: "The *operational verification* is an abbreviated series of checks that may be performed to give a high degree of confidence that the instrument is operating properly *without performing the complete performance tests*.

Yet the Op Ver test results are combined with the Performance Tests Results in the test record. Does that mean that the procedure requires that both groups of tests be performed for a complete calibration?

I agree that the Op Ver  "checks . . . *may be performed* to give a high degree of confidence that the instrument is operating properly.
