copying ports from em setup

Question asked by snowbot on Oct 7, 2015
I'm wondering if there's a way to copy the ports from one em setup to another em setup while retaining the signal and reference relationship between ports? Also is there a way to change the calibration for all ports at once?

If I'm simulating a similar-to design I can copy and paste all the ports from one layout to another layout but the em setup recognizes that the ports have changed and therefore reloads port information from the layout. So the signal-reference relationship between pins is not kept. i.e. I have to drag all of my reference pins back to the minus terminals of my signal pins again). This takes a lot of time!

Ideally I should just make a copy of the cell and make any layout changes in ads, but I'm doing layout in cadence and therefore want to make all of my changes in cadence and just use ads for simulation. If I exported a gds from ads, and imported it in cadence I would lose my original hierarchy I had in cadence which is undesirable. Any suggestions?

If it's not a possibility to do this, this would be a great feature that would save me a ton of time.
