Hi,
Is it possible to remote program the N6784A module for auto ranging state while in an N6705B chassis? There is a manual selection for this feature (accessible via the front-panel [Properties] button) that works exactly as expected. However, compiled help very clearly states that the command SENSe:VOLTage[:DC]:RANGe:AUTO is for the N6781A and N6782A only - and indeed it doesn't work on the N6784A.
So, am I missing something or is this feature just not implemented for remote control?
Thanks for any help or clarifications,
-Mark Royer

The remote auto range is indeed only available on the N6781A and N6782A. The front panel autorange is slow and is basically doing measurements and if it over ranges, it steps up the range. It is not noticeable on the front panel though because it has the benefit of the update rate. Over the interface, you can do measurement samples as quickly as 5 us per measurement so we cannot do that there.
Sorry about that.
