Return to local on Agilent 33500B Waveform Generator

I have an Agilent 33500B Waveform Generator that I am remotely communicating with using a VISA connection over USB using Python (pyvisa to send SCPI commands). When I disconnect from the 33500B, I would like to return it to local mode either manually or in software. I cannot get it to work either way:

1. The 33500B says "Instrument in Remote. Press LOCAL." But, the Local button is a key labeled "System" with "Local" written underneath. Is there a shift key I'm supposed to press? If so, which is it? If not, why does pressing "Local" do nothing?

2. Looking at the programmer's manual, it says to return the 33500B to local, "execute the IEEE-488 GTL (Go To Local) command from the remote interface". But, what is that command? I've tried variations on SCPI commands like "*GTL", but nothing is working.

So far, my only recourse has been to shut down my entire system and restart the 33500B. But this is an unsustainable practice in the long run.

Thanks.
