Text Input Dialogue Box - value constraint bug

Pertains to the text input dialogue box in VEEpro 9.x:
If the value constraint is assigned to an input pin, only a 1d array is accepted. In other words, I cannot have a "to string" element or formula box containing such text as "strLen(value)>0" which is the default you see when first accessing this dialogue box.
And what if I want to allow the user to type anything *except* the elements of an array?...
...I have to use post processing and feed the user back to the dialogue box if the value test fails.
