Hello everyone,

i have a question regarding PM modulator PM_ModTuned (PM Modulator, Tuned)

I want to do a phase modulation for an high frequency signal using ADS, and i am using the PM_ModTuned.

It's noted that this model will not function as a phase modualtor in transit and baseband envelope simualtions, but it seems to me that it did work with the envelope simualtions but it didn't work with the harmonic balance simulations. and i don"t quite understand why.

Anyone can help me with this problem, it would be perfect if it can work with the harmonic balance simulations.

Appreciate your help.

Zeina,

This could be a non-steady-state simulation. Harmonic balance simulations are steady-state, so some time-varying phase modulated signal could not be simulated with HB. However, if you want to simulate a signal with steady-state phase modulation, if you know the spectrum of the signal you could possibly create it and simulate it using HB.

It is easier to use the Envelope simulator for this application, however.
