I am just wondering about the trigger function in Agilent 4395A.
From my Understanding ,Digital storage oscilloscopes has trigger functions to capture a particular event.
Can anyone explain the importance trigger function in Agilent 4395A ?

The trigger function allows the analyzers internal source to sweep thru a list of points based upon the START FREQUENCY / STOP FREQUENCY and NUMBER of POINTS - regardless if the analzyer is in NA or SA or IMPEDANCE mode.
Additionally, the trigger has several modes, such as, EXTERNAL (i.e. a rear panel BNC input) - INTERNAL and BUS (the GPIB bus typically thru a *TRG command).
For most day to day, non automated test system usages, the trigger should be left in INTERNAL and Continuous, i.e. free running.
