Can Fieldfox do RSSI and CINR?

hi,

can anyone advise if fieldfox can do RSSI and CINR measurement?

if not, any other handhelds equipments that can do the said measurement?

please advise.

Fieldfox is a spectrum analyzer, so if the resolution BW is set correctrly, it will give the signal strength in the specified bandwidth, but CINR measurement is modulation dependent. No general purpose analyzer will do this (unless I'm mistaken). RSSI is something that you are interested in your receiver measuring, not an instrument, so I'm confused in your asking this question about a piece of test equipment.

As far as the Fieldfox in general, I looked at it a year ago because my company needed a spectrum analyzer and a network analyzer and I thought this might serve both functions. What killed the deal for me on the spectrum analyzer was the lack of flexibility in zero span mode time scale. On the NA function, it does S11 and S21 magnitude. I didn't have anything to reference it to (the company had no other equipment), so I didn't know how to trust it. I was needing to do antenna impedance matching. I ended out buying a used 22GHz HP spectrum analyzer and a used HP8753B for less than 1/6th of the cost of the Fieldfox.
