I have a 1680A running 5.70. It works fine, although sometimes it takes a couple of tries to get it to recovgnize the LA hardware (the software times out before the frame can initialize). I downloaded 5.80 the other day and installed it without any problems, but the LA hardware *never* intialilzed and the software always started up in the "demo" mode. I unistalled it and went back to 5.70, and everything was back to normal.
Question: Is the 5.80 software supposed to work with the 1680-series? There is an indreict reference to it being compatible in the release notes, but it's not explicitly listed with the other approved hardware models. If it is compatible, is there a workaround for the relatively long hardware initialization/software timeout issue?
Thanks,
Stan

That said, if Windows is fully updated, with all patches, including all .NET patches, then it should work. I have seen cases where various models of LA operated strangely if they were not fully patched.
I'll investigate, and let you know the last version of LA SW that supported the 1680A. Note that the 1680 series is discontinued, past its support life. The 1680A went out of support in 2006, and the 1680AD went out of support in 2012.
