How do I use the ADS Filter DesignGuide to design an L-C filter using only ADS component data provided by vendors (such as Coilcraft for inductors and Murata for capacitors)? My goal is to get it to design a filter with components that I can actually purchase (as opposed to ideal values). I am trying to avoid having the Filter DesignGuide finding a solution with ideal values that I have to then replace with actual components I can buy from Digi-Key, Mouser.
I have already figure out how to import vendor component data into ADS.

1. Although the Filter DesignGuide can be used, it will give you fewer choices of filter types than any of the 3 Genesys filter synthesis tools: Filter; M/Filter and S/Filter. These can be accessed from the ADS tool (W2362EP- RF Architect and Synthesis element).
2. Tune each of the synthesized component values to the nearest standard value. Simulate to verify filter still meets specs.
3. Substitute the standard values with real components from vendor libraries. In S/Filter, users can even transform the topology to fit a quartz crystal equivalent circuit for very high Q and very narrow bandwidth filters.
4. The Genesys schematic can be transferred into an empty active ADS schematic with one click from Genesys: File/Export/Export Schematic to ADS.
