pna-x question on trigger mode behavior

Hello,

I have a question regarding the trigger mode behavior. I am running A.09.90.08 firmware on my PNA-X. I have a mult-channel state file. The following are my triggering settings:

Trigger Source: Manual
Trigger Scope: Global
Channel Trigger State: (for all channels): Continuous

Now if I enter the following scpi commands:

'SYST:CHAN:HOLD'
'SYST:CHAN:RES'

The strange thing is when I enter the second command, the blue light on Port 1 turns on and my DUT being tested registers higher current usage. This is despite the fact that I haven't started triggering by pressing the 'Manual Trigger' button yet! It seems that RF power is being applied based on the settings in Channel 1, even though no measurement is happening. Is that suppose to happen that way? I was under the impression that only when the 'Manual Trigger' button is pressed when the 'Trigger Source' is set to Manual will the measurement start to occur. If someone can clarify this, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
rok
