vrf Charts in Excel not visible

Hi Gary

I have tried all these comands they work fine on other machines except the test machine in question where they have no affect. There is some kind of bug or issue with windows/Excel on the test machine but what that is I do not know. I have tried reloading excel several times but to no affect, but I do not have the time to reload xp or do you think a repair of windows might be worth trying? As far as I know this should not affect any of my vee settings and should leave my general windows configuration untouched?

Cheers

Amrik

Amrik,

I don't have Excel on my Vee machine, but I believe using the Excel Library with VEE you have to change

    Application.ActiveWindow.Visible = True

to

            xlApp.ActiveWindow.Visible = True

I presume you've tried that.

I tend to use Excel's Object browser in Excel's VBA Script Editor to find what I can do with Macros in Excel.  So if those commands don't work, I'd look under Chart and ChartObject using the object browser.

A quick look revealed

Chart.Visible=True

Chart("Chart1").SizeWithWindow = True

ChartObject.Visible=True

And

With Charts("Chart1")
    .RightAngleAxes = True
    .AutoScaling = True
End With

Cheers,

Gary

Amrik,

Below are 2 Excel Macro Commands that might help.

   ' This forces the Active Window to be visible.

    Application.ActiveWindow.Visible = True

    ' Zoom value in percent

    ActiveWindow.Zoom = 100

I know that there is another one that forces Excel to Maximise too.

Cheers,

Gary

Subject: [vrf] Charts in Excel not visible

Hi All

When i create a chart in excel as a new sheet it is not visible or sometimes it is fomatted so that only the title is visible at about 30pt font size. I have tried to resize using drag of the mouse as well as the options in the view menu on the toolbar. However if i create the chart as an object on the sheet the formating is fine,alas i prefer not to do this since i have 6 graphs to display and i would prefer to have them as individual sheets.

I have a series of data points and i use macros in excel to create the charts. On my laptop they work fine and the formating is correct but on the test machine they are all messed up. I have attached pics of how the chart should look like (good) and bad charts for XL 03/07 as generated by my test machine.

I am using win XP SP2, I have tried using XL2003 and 2007 with differing results. I have tried this on 3 different machines and only one is problematic which also happens to be the main test machine, doh.

I have searched the archive and there is no info on this, so any pointers or help appreciated.

I can send my XL file to anyone should they require it.

Cheers

Amrik
