Thought I would share how to install VEE 8.5 or 9 on Windows Vista/7 64-bit. VEE 8.5 / 9.0 will still run as a 32-bit app but that is ok.
These are my observations and are not necessarily supported by Agilent.
[list=1:3mo9gbnl]Step 1: Install IO Libraries Suite 15.5.13009.1 (released 14October, 2009 at 4:00 PM MST) from http://www.agilent.com/find/iosuite. This version natively supports 64-bit Vista and 7.
Step 2: If running on Windows 7, right-click the setup.exe and "Agilent VEE Pro.msi", go to Properties, go to Compatabilities tab, choose to run in Compatability mode of Vista (if you are using VEE runtime, you may need to use an unzip program, such as the free 7-zip, to unzip the self-extracting .exe and change the Compatibility mode on the included .msi file)
Step 3: Start the VEE installer, if it tells you to install .NET, do that

In Step 3, how to set "VEE Run-time.msi" to compatibility mode. VEE run-time is only (?) available as a self-extracting setup.exe file.
