Agilent 654/5/7XA, 664/5/7XA EEPROM Removal/Replacement

Removal & Replacement of the EEPROM located on the front panel printed circuit board (Circuit Ref U6).
When replacing a defective front panel printed circuit board the instrument must be Initialized & Calibrated.

The EEPROM has all of the calibration constants. Using the EEPROM from the defective assembly assuming it is good and using it in the replacement assembly will eliminate Initialization.

The EEPROM is a 8 pin part it is recommended that a socket be installed, the socket will provide the flexability to use the original EEPROM from the new front panel asembly if the OLD EEPROM is defective. Typically the EEPROM will not cause a front panel defect.

Check instrument performance calibration should not be required, unless the instrument is due for calibration, (cp)
