Simple requirement, I need a square wave with adjustable duty, but on command I want to drop some cycles, ranging from 1 to 4. In the past I did this with external gating of the output, but now I only have one 33250A signal generator available. How do I set this up? I just control the 33250A from a serial port, I don't have any fancy apps or Labview (or the time to learn them!).
Thanks.
Thanks.
You can place a TTL signal on the external trigger port and use gated burst to start and stop the burst. When the signal goes low, the generator will complete its current cycle then stay at the voltage level until the signal goes high again.
You can also use a binary external signal and analog modulation (AM) to immediately lower the amplitude to a minimum value and bring it back up again.
