New programming tools from Agilent make it easy to create Android and Apple Apps to control Electronic Test Instruments. The tools help control, transfer and plot the data from T&M instruments. The video (link below) shows the website where you can download the code and examples. An example is shown Xcode and is launched in the iPhone simulator. I would like to use this with an NI GPIB-USB and program in Visual Studio (Visual Basic .Net 2012).
Is the Command Expert 1.2 update a firmware revision ?
2] I need to set this power supply in Constant Current mode for a Tungsten-Halogen Lamp for photometry measurements, and need to slowly(over several minutes) ramp-up the current to the lamp to a maximum of 6.4A, and when finished with measurements for the day, slowly ramp-down the current to zero. This will maintain the lamp integrity and long term performance. How do I do this both from the front panel and separately in VB .Net ?
Are there any practical software examples in VB .NET available ?
-- I understand that this unit comes up only in CV mode, but I want to use it in CC mode... and I have seen an Agilent (1 page) FAQ stating that "the power supply cannot be put into constant current mode...." !!
