vrf What happed to the DeviceName Control Input on Direct I/O Objects????????

Question asked by fukui.yutaka on Mar 11, 2008
Hi,

In VEE 8.0 or later, you have an optional "Pre 8.0 Legacy I/O" feature and this I/O is enabled when you check a check-box of the

Default Preferences -> I/O -> I/O Preferences: Pre 8.0 Legacy I/O.

In VEE 8.0 or later, you now have two GPIB Interfaces, that is GPIB and GPIB(Legacy). GPIB seems to be a VISA-based interface.
Direct I/O of GPIB has no Control Input and you can use functions
(Type:Instruments) to do the same thing. On the contrary, Direct I/O of GPIB(Legacy) has the Control Input and functions.

Use GPIB(Legacy) if you want to use the Control Input of the Direct I/O.
