vrf Scipi translation

Question asked by VRFuser on May 13, 2008
I've done this with earlier versions of VEE and it worked fine but Bernd is right about having the original locked away safe somewhere as the first few tries may give you the red box of doom.

Save early, save often.

Hello Jacob,

there is no "official" way to patch your program, however VEE files are actually text files and if you just have to replace some of your SCPI commands by new ones and there is no change in the structure of the program, you might try to search and replace them with any text editor or command line tool. Be sure to do this on a copy of your original program, because this might render your program corrupt. I never tried this myself, however depending on the situation, it might be the best way to do it.

Bernd

     Hi VRF

I have written a test program to function with particular instruments. Now the project spec has changed to allow for the use of different models of the same type of instrument.

The only issue with this is that the program is very large and the scipi commands are built into the direct io boxes. Is there a quick and easy way to update the program to allow for the use of different scipi commands?
