New Fixture Fails High Value Resistors and Low Value Caps

Question asked by dbailey on Dec 6, 2012
Just a heads up for anyone scratching their heads trying to figure out why 20K ohm and up resistors fail low and 47 pf caps are failing high with a brand new fixture with guided probes: if the fixture's top plate is coated with an anti-static layer, that layer can conduct between probes and become parallel resistance.

Spot milling through the very upper layer of the top plate to remove only the anti-static layer.  This was only a problem on via target probes.   Our through hole probes were not 'guided' and did not rub up against the anti-static layer.
