I am unable to update the firmware on my 34405A and get an error message, see attached image.
I have tried on two computers, one with Labview and one without. The results are the same.
The serial number on the instrument does not match the serial number on the software.
Communication with the instrument works fine using Labview, no problems at all.
I have seen settings being reset between power-ups, that is why I would like to update the firmware.
Any suggestions?

Is there any way to force a firmware update?
I have tried the compability modes in Win 7, with the "XP SP2" and "XP SP3" settings. That didn't help either.
Besides, it works just fine.
Anyway, thanks for your support!
It seemed temperature related. If you keep the unit off for a while and turn it back on it would communicate with the firmware updating tool.
