I am trying to communicate to a 3300A DC electronic load device over the serial port.
I have verified that the settings of the device and my computer match.
I have verified that my computer is sending the serial command.
When I send any command, i.e. *IDN or SYST:REM
I get no response echoed back to me in my serial software.
If the SYST:REM command functioned correctly, it should disable all the front panel buttons (except the LOCAL button)
and any front panel button pushed should not respond.
Since they do respond, I am assuming the SYST:REM command did not work.
Sorry if this is the wrong forum, I could not find one for my device.
Any help would be appreciated.

I was wondering which software tool you are using to send the commands to the e-load? Is it VISA Assistant or Interactive I/O using the Agilent I/O Library Suite? Is there an ERR indicator on the front panel of the e-load when you send these commands over? If the ERR indicator do come on, that means the commands generated an error. When do query the instrument and do a *IDN?, does it return anything? If it doesn't that means the unit is not taking the commands. What are the RS-232 settings?
