Hello
We are encountering a sort of "noise" problem in the E4407B. Occasionally for a few minutes the trace seems noisier than in normal condition. The noise floor does not rise but rather fall in some places, so the average is much lower than in normal case. It seems as if when the problem occurs the instrument "misses" some of the spectral samples or samples them with very low value. All traces were recoded with no connection to the spectrum input.
Any ideas?
Thanks

There aren't any error messages and the auto alignments are turned on, right?
