Hi, Thanks for the reply. We're going from 7.2 pc to 5.2 ux. In terms of feature, there's mostly analog unpowered/powered testing and digital tests, no device programming. These products are phasing out and are migrated to a system outside our production line for RMA purpose only, so there's no plan to upgrade to control xt.
I guess the main work will be downgrading version and converting to ux. Can you give examples of features I should look out for specifically using control XT card?
i dont recommend downgrading, but if you have to - there are few things that may catch you out, mostly in software , not hardware
if you are going back to 5.2 - is this 05.21 ? then this will help for panel tests because it supprots the same parent:child seperation as PC, like for panels, resistor packs, diode etc... you can use 'enable common delimiter' and keep the % sign
are you using VTEP, or testjet in the fixtures? - VTEP does not work on UX,
control XT is much faster than Plus, (you will have to recompile all tests anyway in conversion)
- and if you have any flash programming, this will need to be re-done because XT is much better at flash programming,
also depends on how many programs do you need to transfer ? XT cards are not expensive, new PC is around 8k$, and this will improve value of your RMA system - plus you can run PC in dual boot mode with UX -
then you will be plug and play, no work involved -
what software revision are you currently at (from other system) and what rev do you want to go back to(control plus system)?
and can also depend on factor if you are using any feature from the control XT card,
what is problem to upgrade to XT or XTP?
