Hi,
I have a E3633A from the front panel the OVP/OCP can be set, as can the limits.
What is the difference between limits and OVP/OCP?
I have found the remote commands to set OVP/OCP but can't find any mention of remotely controlling the limits.
Can the limits be remote controlled?
Regards,
Mac

The limits are programming limits. When a power supply is in CV mode, it is regulating the output voltage at the limit that you set and your load is controlling the current draw. When the power supply is in CC mode, the power supply is regulating current and the load is controlling the voltage.
Protection is a different story. With OVP and OCP, when the unit reaches the limit that you set, it shuts down the output.
You can set the limits remotely. The commands are:
VOLT:PROT
CURR:PROT
Thanks!
