That part at least is easy-- good old "execute program" will do the trick.
Just run the standard shutdown utility and you are all set. Quick, simple, robust.
"shutdown" if you are running as an admin
"runas" and "shutdown" if you are running as normal user

Does anyone know how to do any of the following?
a) trap windows shutdown within a vee program? Ie detect that windows is closing so that you could throw up an error messages or similar?
b) Force windows to shutdown
c) Get veerun.exe to exit without error message when windows is shutdown?
I have a vee program that must run in background until the user closes windows. At the moment, when the user selects to shutdown windows, I get an error message from veerun stating that windows cannot be closed down while vee is running. Problem is that the vee window is invisible to the user at that point so the user has no way to cleanly exit vee. So, I need to trap the shutdown such that I can exit vee cleanly and allow the shutdown to continue or find someway to allow windows to cleanly close when it is notified of a shutdown.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions. If I dig anything up myself, I’ll post it here.
Nick
