Timing Sync between two N5306A blades of an N5541A-N2X

Question asked by tomDoster on Dec 13, 2012
I am using my company's Agilent N5306A logic analyzer for the first time.  There are two blades in the N5541A-N2X chassis.  I'd need to synchronize the timing of two PCIe probes from this box.  Assuming that I can only have one probe on each blade, what do I need to synchronize the timing of the two blades?  Are the blades already connected by virtue of being in the same chassis, or do we have to purchase a separate cable for the "TIMING SYNC" ports on the back of the blade?

Also, do I need an extra piece of equipment to act as the master clock, or is cabling the two blades together enough?

Thanks!
