I am doing a simulation that involves an inductor whose inductance changes at different frequencies. I have a polynomial equation which defines the inductance value over the range of frequencies I am interested in and I would like to somehow have the value of the inductor in my simulation change with frequency as specified by the equation.

I was able to enter the equation into Genesy, but the dependent variable in the equation - x (frequency) - is not defined, so Genesys throws an error.

Is what I'm trying to do possible?

I waited for somebody else to catch this one, but I didn't want you to hang too long, so here goes...

Your dataset has a frequency variable that you can access in equations. Here' how it might look, if you are using the latest, greatest version of Genesys:

First, say you set up a linear simulation with 101 points and name the dataset "Data1".

Then say you open an equation window. Put in a line of code like, "freq = Data1.F" and click "Go" on the left side of the equation dialog box. You should see the output "freq = Real[101]". That is your frequency array from the linear simulation.

Can you get where you need to go from here?
