Hi all,
I would like to make a modulation with the N9310A Agilent RF Signal generator
But I don't understand exactly how
Could someone explain me it step by step ?
I have the I O library suite, the generator is find, but after , in IQ mode, i can just generate the carrier frequency
and it doesn t take my input signal send via usb cable at the rear of the machine.
I don t understand why it didn t work. ( IQ mode is selected and is the only one which said take an external source)
merci d avance, Olivier

Firstly, Connect the external I/Q source to the BNC I and Q inputs on the rear panel of the signal generator.
Setting the Freq and Amp with commands: :FREQuency:CW <val> <unit> and :AMPLitude:CW <val> <unit>
The external I/Q signal must meet the following restrictions, before you enable the I/Q modulation:
• input impedance 50 W
• VSWR < 1.5
• Full scale input voltage < 0.5 Vrms
Excute the following command to toggle the externally generated I/Q modulation state between ON and OFF via I/O Library
:IQ:STATe ON|OFF|1|0
Finally, output the RF signal with the following commands: :RFOutput:STATe ON|OFF|1|0
After that, you could enable I/Q modulated signal output via programming.
