Our calibration lab has Agilent PSG E8267D (20GHz version) signal generator with AM option (UNT option). Generator is calibrated ones a year in Agilent, but why AM modulation check dosen't belongs to the Agilent performance test? Generator is passed the calibration nicely, but AM modulation dosen't work properly. Modulation percent error is almost 40% when we measured it using 1kHz mudulation freq. Test device was Agilent 8902A measuring receiver.

Our lab has several more a less similar PSG generators with AM option and they work fine. I'm quite worry, that AM side dosen't include the Agilent's performance test routine.
