Is there a way to return to local without pressing the Shift (Local) button on the DMM? I've found some documentation for other devices where this is possible.. but can't find anything or get it to work with the 34410A.
Maybe there is another way to do what I'm trying to do.. Basically I'm creating a test setup where an operator would use the 34410A to read the voltage from a variac. Once at a certain voltage, I want to use SCPI to read the voltage on the meter, do some calculations, and then return the DMM to local to allow the operator to change it to another voltage and repeat.
Is there a way not to freeze the display when in remote? Or a way to not go into remote just to do a quick MEAS command?
Right now I'm just using the Agilent Interactive IO so I'm pretty sure its not my setup...
thanks for all of your help, really appreciate it

I use this visa command to return in local mode under vbnet 2010 or 2013 with win7 or win8.1 and iolibrairies :
errorStatus = visa32.viGpibControlREN(viE34410A, visa32.VI_GPIB_REN_ADDRESS_GTL)
Hi,
I have the same problem with the 34461A over LAN. No command seems to work.
Any ideas?
Kind regards
Hello mate!
Long time this was asked but i might have the answer. Using SYST:LOC on 34465 does the trick. Page 402 in manual
