3458A high speed measurement with MatLab

Hi,

I'm new to using 3458A with MatLab. So far, I've got data using 'fscanf'. For example,

fprintf (tool.id, 'END 2');
fprintf(tool.id,'DCV AUTO');
A = fscanf(tool.id, '%f');

But, 'fscanf' function takes time such as about 0.7 sec.

What I'm trying to do is high speed measurement. Please help me out with command for high speed reading and how to direct access to its memory.
The most difficult part is to transfer data from the device to computer.

I'm using GPIB interface, but I'm not sure that my GPIB interface is direct memory access gpib.
